Wilcox Wins CCS!!!
The Chargers beat Los Altos 3-1 today in the CCS Division II Finals. But it wasn't easy. They went up early 1-0 with a run by Kyle Johnston. Later, Los Altos came back to tie the score with a hit off of starter Ivan Rodriguez. Kyle Barraclough came in at the top of the sixth inning with one out and closed out the inning (ask someone who was there about the fake pickoff play at second that got an out). In the bottom of the sixth, Rueben Zendejas drove in two runs (Trevor Scott and Eric Lumbert) with a double to left field. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded and two outs, Barraclough struck out the final batter to get the ultimate win. This is the fourth CCS baseball title in Wilcox history. Thanks to the players, coaches, parents, and fans throughout the season. It can't get any better than this!

Wilcox in CCS Final With Los Altos Tomorrow
On Thursday, in the wind and the cold and the darkness, behind the dominant pitching of Kyle Barraclough, second-seeded Wilcox beat Leigh 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning. And in the earlier game, Los Altos improbably beat top-seeded Aptos 3-2 to make it to the CCS Championship game. Come cheer on the Chargers in their title bid tomorrow, Saturday, May 24, at 4pm at San Jose Municipal Stadium (where the San Jose Giants play)!
